Prof.Chung-Li Hsu

Prof. Li-Chung Hsu received his PHD degrees from Chungching University, Taiwan. He currently serves as the Dean of Department of Soil and Water Conservation, Pingtung University of Scienceand Technology, Taiwan, China. And he is also the Director General of Soil and Water Conservation Technology Service Center. He have over 10 years of experience working in various fields, including software QA, emulator development, static timing analysis, physical design flow development, inductive coupling interface design, massively computational programming, clock sign-off, aging timing sign-off and design for reliability. Creative problem solver with short learning period and strongly coding skills, known for consistently coming up with original ideas and being able to work independently.

In civil engineering (urban) sponge and disaster prevention engineering, soil and water conservation engineering and disaster prevention engineering field, and environmental engineering and engineering management specialty, has published journal articles 16, with the Taiwan civil, environmental, electrical, heavy machinery and other related professional operation licenses, a total of 24 pieces, and developed with mainland China and Taiwan intellectual property of 8 invention patents, new style 2 invention patents, new type 1 of 4 invention patents. And the Taiwan sponge city construction program specification 03341. He is the chief editor of pervious concrete, plant grown concrete, circulating fluidized bed ash, test standards for pervious concrete and other industrial standards of the ministry of industry and information technology of the People's Republic of China.

A.Prof.Tengfei Fu

Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, China

Research Area:Innovative cement-based materials,Concrete durability,Green building materials and design,Alternative cement and concrete


Dr. Fu received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Materials Science (dual major) in 2013 at Oregon State University. His doctoral research includes investigation on early-age properties of high-performance concrete, chemical shrinkage and autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage and cracking, microstructures, and calcium aluminate cement. He was awarded the Education Foundation Scholarship by Portland Cement Association in 2012. He stayed at Oregon State University after graduation as a post-doctoral researcher to continue his research on use of cellulose nanocrystals in cementitious materials, carbonated calcium silicate-based cement, and green building materials. He was also registered with LEED as an Accredited Professional (BD+C) in 2015. In early 2018, he joined the college of Transportation and Civil Engineering at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, to continue his research in application of nano materials in cementitious materials, durability of concrete in bridge and pavement, green and innovative building materials, and alternative cementitious materials.

Research Area: Renewable Energy, Green Technology, Wind Turbine Design



Dr. Chong Wen Tong graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM (Mechanical-Aeronautics). He was awarded the Best Student Award for his academic achievement; and obtained his Ph.D. from the same university. Dr. Chong WT joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, UM (# 33, QS-Subjects-Ranking-2016/2017) after spending 10 years in various industries. (Dyson, LHH Precision Engineering, JK Digital Technology & Sony). Before joining UM, he was the Head of Technology and Mechanical Team in Dyson Malaysia, and has been responsible for research, design and development works on vacuum cleaner, hand dryer and bladeless fan. He led more than 30 engineers and technicians, and participated in several projects, award-winning products, patents and the creation of Dyson new technology. He is a Chartered Engineer registered by the Engineering Council (UK). He served as the Programme Coordinator (Mechanical) for about 5 years (2011-2015) and teaches Renewable Energy at the M.Eng. level in UM. He is the Head, UM Centre for Energy Sciences. He has secured more than RM 6 million research grants (HIR-MOHE, PRGS, ERGS, FRGS, UMRG, PJP, Global Partnership Award-University of Southampton and RCETS-NCKU, Taiwan), completed 18 research projects (renewable energy & green technology) as principal investigator and successfully supervised >35 post-graduate graduates. He has filed 12 intellectual property rights and won the First Prize of National Intellectual Property Award 2016 (Cross-Axis-Wind-Turbine, CAWT). He is the Editorial Board Member of two SCI-Q1 journal (10% top), i.e. the International Journal of Energy Research (IJER) and International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing-Green Technology (IJPEM-GT). He has co-authored >110 ISI technical articles (h-index = 27). He is also the recipient of the University of Malaya Excellence Award 2016, Excellent Lecturer (Science & Technology). He is the Conference Chair of International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Green Technology (SEGT 2018 & 2019). His invented CAWT is expected to push the limit of wind turbine design and enhance the energy output.  The CAWT has the high potential for offshore wind energy markets (€130 Billion Annual Market by 2020), and it contributes to the job opportunity, betterment of environment, installation & maintenance and workers’ safety.
